Record how a viewing went

Guide 4 min read 5 steps Updated 1 Nov 2026 Copy link

Capture the outcome of every viewing, whether it was a tour stop, a showing of your listing or an open house, so your seller hears what buyers thought and your reports stay complete.

A viewing is only half done when the door closes. What the buyer said about the home and the price is what your seller wants to hear and what your next conversation with the buyer is built on. The NLS gives you a place to record it for each kind of viewing.

Record it the same day. The questions are short, and the answers feed your seller reports, your CRM records and the open house feedback totals on your dashboard.

Before you start

  • The viewing itself logged on The NLS: a stop on a viewing tour, a showing on your seller's record, or a scheduled open house.
  • A note of what the buyer said about interest, price and anything that concerned them.
  1. After a viewing tour stop

On the tour's On the day tab, or Tour Day on your phone, click Mark Viewing Complete on the stop you have just left. Note how it went: favourite, interested or not, what they liked, any concerns and their view on price.

Your buyer can add their own feedback on their tour page, so ask them to while the house is fresh in their mind.

  2. After a showing of your own listing

Open Viewings to see every appointment and its outcome. Choose the showing and record what happened: how interested the buyer is, whether they may offer or want a second viewing, and what they said about the price. Click Save the outcome.

If you ticked Follow-up required when you logged the showing, the next-day task is your prompt to ring the buyer's agent and record their answer.

  3. After an open house

You do not record attendee feedback yourself. With feedback left on, every attendee gets a questionnaire by email at 7 pm on the day, and walk-in visitors use the QR code at the door. The asking price is hidden from them.

Their answers roll up on your dashboard under Open house feedback. The Feedback button on the open house card in My Open Houses shows the detail: interest, what they liked, how the value feels and what they would pay.

  4. Tell your seller

Showing outcomes sit on the seller's record under Showings & feedback, next to the counts of upcoming and completed showings. Use them, and the open house price answers, when you report back. Several buyers naming the same number is the strongest case for a price review you will have.

  5. Use the outcome with the buyer

A buyer marked as a favourite or as likely to offer is your next call. Their tour feedback and your notes are on their CRM record, so the follow-up and any offer start from what was actually said.

Good to know

  • Record price as a number where there is a field for it, not as 'a bit high'. Numbers add up across viewings and words do not.
  • Do it on the doorstep. The outcome fields are short on purpose. A note made at the car is worth more than a careful one written two days later.
  • Second viewing wanted? Log it as a new showing on the seller's record so the seller sees the interest building.
  • Every outcome counts in your reports, so a viewing with no outcome recorded looks like a viewing that never happened.
