Start from a listing card, write a short introduction, check the exact email, and send one property to every consented contact in your CRM. Then read the opens and clicks in History.
An e-shot sends one of your properties straight to the contacts who have agreed to hear from you. It starts from the listing itself, so the photos, price and description are already in the email when the composer opens. You add a subject and a few lines of your own, check the preview, and send.
Only consented contacts receive it. Each one gets their own copy with an unsubscribe link, and the results appear in the History tab so you can see who opened and clicked.
Before you start
- A published listing you want to promote.
- Contacts in your CRM who have given marketing consent. The composer tells you how many there are before you send.
- A sentence or two about why this property is worth a look. Short works better than long.
-
Start from the listing
Go to My Listings. Open the menu on the card of the listing you want to send and choose Create E-shot.
The composer opens with that property already in place. A live preview of the email sits on the right, so you can see the result as you work.
-
Write the subject and introduction
Give the e-shot a subject. It also becomes the title of the email, so write it the way you would a headline.
Add a short introduction in your own words, then click Update preview to see it in place. You can rename the property section, for example to Just listed, or add more of your listings to it.
Note Writing for Spanish-speaking clients? Translate to Spanish translates your subject, introduction and headings. It is a fresh machine translation each time, so read it once before you send.
-
Check the audience
Under the preview, Consented audience shows how many contacts will receive it. These are the clients in your CRM who gave consent. Nobody else is counted and nobody else receives it.
If the number is lower than you expected, the missing contacts have not given consent in the CRM. Fix that there, not in the composer.
-
Send a test to yourself
Before anything goes to clients, use Send a test to myself. One copy of the exact e-shot arrives in your own inbox. Open it on your phone as well as your computer, since most clients will read it on a phone.
Not finished? Save draft keeps your work to come back to later.
-
Review and send
Click Review & send. You see the exact email before anything goes out. Scroll through it and check the property, the price and your introduction.
If something is not right, Keep editing takes you back. When you are happy, click Send. Each contact gets their own email with an unsubscribe link, sent in the background. Back in the composer, the button now reads Sent.
-
Track the results
Open the History tab. Each newsletter and e-shot you have sent shows how many went out, the opens, the clicks and the open rate.
Drafts wait above the sent list, ready to continue editing or delete. To send another property, start again from its card in My Listings.
Good to know
- One property, one e-shot. An e-shot is built around a single listing. For several properties at once, use the newsletter instead.
- Keep the introduction short. Two or three sentences on what makes the property worth a viewing. The listing details are already in the email.
- Unsubscribes are automatic. Anyone who clicks the unsubscribe link drops off your list. You do not need to remove them by hand.
- Check the open rate after a day or two, not straight away. Most opens come in the first 48 hours.
